K11, Red Chamber Art Space

A new private arts institution with a total of 1400 square meters of gallery space on three floors, set in a large cultural complex close to the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The program calls for the space to function as a kunsthalle with a rotating program of contemporary art exhibitions, to be originated in China and in foreign lending institutions. Educational programs will be a particular emphasis of the Art Space.
Museoplan is designing all of the galleries and arts-related back-of-house services as well as education, administration and gallery retail spaces. Our design follows on an initial feasibility of the project and a detailed programming exercise; Museoplan is also assisting the client in putting in place the curatorial and administrative organization for the institution.
